1. Download Hadoop-Splunk Connector from splunk website

2. Log-in into Splunk Web UI
Select Manage apps and you will be redirect to Apps page
4. Select install app from file
5. Use browse to select app and select downloaded “splunk-hadoop-connect_123.tgz”
6. Restart the splunk
7. After restart in the Splunk dashboard you will find “Hadoop Connect”
8. Select “Hadoop Connect” and in the next window select “Add cluster” to add Hadoop Clusters
9. Enter Cluster details as showed in below screenshot
10. After entering above details, select “Save”
Note:
1. You need admin privileges to perform above operations
2. Set JAVA_HOME and HADOOP_HOME in .bashrc
3. Locations may change from one dir to another dir according to your cluster configurations
Troubleshooting:
If you are getting below error, just copy “hadoop-hdfs-2.6.0-cdh5.7.0.jar” from hadoop-hdfs to HADOOP_HOME
